A SUSTAINABLE GARDEN. WHAT EXACTLY IS THAT?

Sustainability and the environment are important topics to us. These keywords are therefore closely processed in our work. 020GROEN stands for sustainable garden maintenance and sustainable gardens, with which we burden the environment as little as possible.

From our knowledge, we have been engaged in sustainable business from the very beginning, as a result of which our garden maintenance and our landscaping are obviously sustainable too. But what explain. does sustainable garden maintenance or the sustainable way of landscaping really mean?

THE MAIN PRIORITIES OF A SUSTAINABLE GARDEN LAYOUT AND SUSTAINABLE MAINTENANCE

A sustainable garden pays attention to various aspects. The environment, your surroundings, but also animals are an important aspect, which we take into consideration by way of sustainable landscaping and maintenance.

For the sustainable way of landscaping and maintenance of a garden, a number of questions are important, for example:

  • Should I use tiles or plants in my sustainable garden?

Depending on your wishes, you can check whether you want plants or tiles in your sustainable garden. A sustainable garden has a variety of plants and not too many tiles. Butterflies and bees are able to find a nice place at different flowers and bushes in your garden, as well as birds if you have got berry bushes

The more varied your planting, the more sustainable your garden is. Soil is also able to process rainwater better than when you have tiles. In order to also enjoy your sustainable garden, you can request a garden design from us, where we combine plants and tiles in such a way that both nature and yourself can enjoy the garden.

  • Should I use fertilizer or compost?

Compost is very easy to make. Separate your kitchen waste and compost it on a compost pile or in a composter. When you scoop it occasionally, you will have free, very nutrient-rich soil to fertilize the garden with.

You can also use fertilizer, but this will ensure that worms stay out of your garden. Worms ensure the airing of your garden soil, so that rainwater is easily absorbed by it. When these worms stay away, the risk of puddles will be increased.
